With the start of a new season, it is the perfect time to add some new on-trend pieces to your existing wardrobe. I've chosen 6 trends that will feature this Autumn/Winter 2021 to hopefully inspire you to freshen and update your outfits and embrace the colder weather.
As the weather becomes cooler Ankle boots are still on trend this year, but that does not mean you are limited to these, knee high boots still feature in this year's autumn collections. The good news is that the heels are chunkier this year, providing comfort so you can wear them all day long, yay!!
Fashion sneakers continue to have their day in the autumn sun! Pre-Covid these shoes were destined for casual and weekend wear, but now sneakers have become an integral part of everyone's wardrobe. From the classic white sneaker to the chunky sole trainer, these shoes are here to stay!
Jeans are an essential item in every wardrobe and every woman should own a good fitting pair of jeans. Although mum jeans and straight leg jeans have become more popular recently, I recommend choosing a style that suits your body shape. And don't limit yourself to blue jeans - white, grey or black jeans can be on trend (and a little bit dressier in my opinion) plus be super versatile in your wardrobe.
Leggings or Joggers
With all the working from home we did last year (and with some of you continuing to work from home), these items have moved from the active wear wardrobe more into our daily wear. There are a great number of options these days which can be dressed up if you consider them too casual.
With cooler weather comes the need for more cozy clothing and knits fit that bill perfectly. This year the knitted vest makes a re-appearance. Great for layering, it is the perfect transeasonal item. Knit dresses are also on trend this chilly season. These are one of my favourite autumn/winter pieces of clothing. Either wear them on their own or layer them under an oversized blazer, and choose either knee or calf length styles to lengthen your frame and inject sheer sophistication into your outfit.
These are a lighter option to the coats we wear in winter. They are ideal for layering over t-shirts, shirts and dresses. Highly versatile, they come in a variety of fabrics, depending on the warmth you require. From lightweight viscose, to suede and even leather, the trusted trench coat will elevate any outfit and will be a worthwhile investment in your autumn/winter wardrobe.
Colours of Autumn
Red is fashionable every season and in Autumn this sentiment is more true than ever. There is a shade for every woman, from cherry, crimson and even scarlet shades, don't be afraid to rock it head to toe for maximum impact.
Khaki is a colour that suits every complexion and can be as versatile and chic as black. Khaki can be paired with every shade that you can think of, especially denim, pastels and bold colours. No matter if you just add a touch or wear it head to toe, khaki is the new black for Autumn.
Earth tones and neutral shades always make an appearance in Autumn. From terracotta, tan, beige and even ecru, these colours are as versatile as they are timeless.
